The Celestron Travel Scope 80mm f/5 AZ Refractor Telescope Kit is built for portability and ease of use, suitable for both astronomical and terrestrial viewing. Its refractor-style optical tube has a sufficient aperture to gather enough light for clear, bright views of the moon and planets. This model comes with a universal smartphone digiscoping adapter, enabling users to capture photos and videos through the eyepieces for easy editing, sharing, and enjoyment. The optical tube assembly (OTA) is mounted onto a photo-style alt-az pan/tilt head using a simple screw. A single control handle allows for smooth movement and locks the altitude in place for hands-free use, reducing vibration.

The accompanying photo-style tripod can collapse low enough for tabletop use and extend to full height. With the included erecting prism, views are corrected horizontally and laterally, allowing the Travel Scope to function as a conventional spotting scope. Two eyepieces provide 20x and 40x magnifications, but any 1.25 astronomical eyepiece can be used. The entire kit - OTA, tripod, head, and accessories - fits into the included backpack for maximum portability.
