Superb Quality German Made Optics - Optolyth Ceralin 30x75 Draw Tube Scope. Good condition - with some issues. NOTE: Although the views through the scope are superb, there is light fungus to the objective, and some to the eyepiece end and would benefit from cleaning. Draw tube needs firm pull to start then is smooth. The fungus can be ensured to be killed by UV (if you don't wish to clean it) by pointing to the sun for a few hours - take care were the rays go.

The scope is perfectly usable as it is with top quality views. Optolyth have a top reputation for optical quality alongside Zeiss and Swarovski. Great quality scope that is as perfect for Birding as it is for grab and go Astronomy. Beautifully engineered and top quality build.

Views are outstanding with superb clarity and focus with crisp bright views, on both terrestrial and astronomy objects. 30x is ideal for birding. This also makes a great grab and go astronomy with the rings of Saturn and bands of Jupiter readily visible, and it is light so easily mounted on a photo tripod. In the day it can be used without a tripod at a push but gives its best detail when tripod or monopod mounted. The draw tube design is brilliant.

Just pull firmly on the eyepiece and slowly draw out the smoothly operating tube and push back in once finished. The hiss of air is expelled through the mount plate.

Length : 300mm - 12 inches. Length Opened: 480mm 19 inches. Optics are excellent in use and unscratched to the external, but there is light fungus across the objective and eyepiece - likely from being put away slight damp. The paint to the eyepiece focuser has some wear which is usual for these scopes.

The rubber eyecup is soft and good to use but is not original. The draw tube is properly weighted with no slop at all - it needs firm pressure to start it off and then moves easily - this is typical of these scopes and you will quickly get used to it. The focuser is smooth and accurate. The aluminium draw tube has some corrosion - see photos - this in no way affects the use. The mount plate has some paint missing but the threads are in A1 condition. The rubber armour has signs of use but it is excellent quality and in excellent condition - soft and has zero degradation. All in all in Good condition and a lovely scope - just has some fungus.
